PPV price: the average price needed to reach a target
You are aiming for a monthly revenue per creator. You have a number of active fans, you send them a certain number of paid media, and only a share is unlocked. This tool derives the average price needed, and also does the reverse calculation.
The formula
One way, then the other
Expected unlocks per month = active fans × paid media sent per fan per month × unlock rate.
Average price needed = monthly revenue target ÷ expected unlocks.
Expected revenue (reverse calculation) = expected unlocks × average price.
The calculated revenue is gross, before the platform commission. The unlock rate is measured on your conversations; the default value of 43% takes the ratio published by OnlyChat as an example of an indicator, with its definition, and not as a norm. The number of active fans, the sends per fan and the target are working assumptions.
Worked example
Target 5,000 dollars, 400 active fans, 4 sends per fan, 43% rate
| Item | Calculation | Value |
|---|---|---|
| Paid media sent per month | 400 fans × 4 sends | 1,600 |
| Expected unlocks | 1,600 sends × 43% | 688 |
| Average price needed | $5,000 ÷ 688 unlocks | $7.27 |
| Expected revenue at $25 (reverse calculation) | 688 unlocks × $25 | $17,200.00 |
| Revenue per active fan | $17,200 ÷ 400 fans | $43.00 |

Frequently asked questions
Three questions about this calculation
What is the unlock rate?
The share of paid media sent that are actually purchased. It is measured on your own conversations: media unlocked divided by media sent, over a given period. OnlyChat publishes on its "about" page a ratio of 43%, defined as follows: of every hundred paid photos or videos sent by the AI, 43 are unlocked, a cumulative statistic since launch, neither an isolated account nor a comparison with human chatters. It is an example of a published indicator, not a market norm.
Why does the number of media sent per fan matter?
Because a fan does not receive a single paid media per month. Revenue depends on the number of sends, the unlock rate and the price. If you double the sends without lowering the rate, revenue doubles; in practice the rate drops when sends become repetitive, which only your own measurement will tell you.
Is the calculated price the one to display?
No, it is an average price per unlock. A real price ladder has several tiers, from the hook media to the most expensive one, and the weighted average of what sells has to land on this figure. The lesson on the price ladder in module 5 explains how to build those tiers.
