OnlyFans, MYM or Telegram: the comparison to help you choose
In brief
OnlyFans keeps 20% of every payment, MYM deducts 7% in bank fees then pays out 75% to 80% depending on the feature, and Telegram publishes a table between Stars and net proceeds with no single percentage. The real dividing line is control of the list: only Telegram leaves it in your accounts, with a public bot API.
What you will be able to do
- Read the three channels on eight sourced criteria, without reducing the comparison to a percentage.
- Describe what each channel gives and takes away in terms of control over the fan list.
- Choose a starting channel based on three typical situations, and know when to add a second one.
The three previous lessons, plus the two lessons on Telegram, laid out the facts channel by channel. This lesson puts them side by side. Each cell points to an official page cited in one of those lessons; when a platform does not publish a given point, the cell says so.

What the table does not show
Three readings, line by line.
The commission cannot be compared in one number. OnlyFans applies a single rate to a pre-tax price in dollars. MYM stacks banking fees on a tax-inclusive price, then a rate per feature on the pre-tax amount. Telegram goes through an app store before even reaching its own table. The only honest way to compare is to calculate a net amount for a given sale, which the exercises of the three lessons made you do, and which the /tools/net-after-commission/ tool automates.
Refunds decide trust. On OnlyFans, the fan can dispute the charge with their bank, and the platform writes that it “cannot prevent” that request. On MYM, the fan waives the withdrawal period but keeps recourse if the media is not delivered, which implies arbitration by the platform. On Telegram, the sale is final and there is nobody to arbitrate. The seller is protected and alone at the same time.
Control of the list is the real dividing line. On the two content platforms, fans sit in an account the platform can close, and discovery partly comes from the platform. On Telegram, fans sit in your own accounts, nobody brings them to you, and nobody can take them away from you other than by closing your accounts. The two lessons on Telegram detailed what that changes for automation; this line is the one that weighs the most in the choice that follows.
Choosing based on your situation
A beginner creator, French-speaking. The channel where everything is in French, in euros and tax-inclusive, with a help center in French, reduces friction: that is MYM. The fan requests a media and the creator sets her price, which suits someone learning to sell. What you lose: an audience whose size and distribution are not published, and a lower net on subscriptions. Add OnlyFans when the content and the persona hold up, not before.
A creator with an international audience. An audience that pays in dollars, by card, on a platform it already knows: that is OnlyFans. The published prices bound the ladder, the single rate simplifies the revenue split, and built-in discovery brings part of the traffic. What you lose: the list belongs to the platform, chargebacks exist, and the conversation cannot be automated through a public interface. The Chatting module explains what that implies for messaging.
An operation that wants to control its list. That is Telegram, and it is the only channel where the conversation, the payment and the list are in your own accounts, with a public interface for bots. What you lose: all discovery, all pre-installed trust, all mediation, and a dependency on app stores for buying Stars. This channel only makes sense with an acquisition engine that already runs, which the marketing module measures first.
A fourth situation exists and it is common: an operation already running on a content platform that wants a second channel. The answer is in the lesson on Stars: open Telegram in parallel, with a dedicated acquisition account, to compare.
Tools per channel
The choice of channel drives the choice of tools, not the other way around. A conversation tool that works on Telegram goes through the bot API; on OnlyFans, it goes through an extension or an interface the platform does not document; on MYM, the platform announces official integrations with third-party tools. As a public example, OnlyChat lists on its pricing page two active platforms, OnlyFans and Telegram, with MYM announced as “Coming soon”, a price per creator per month plus a commission on the AI’s sales, and publishes its limits: no free plan, interface in English.
